Hi, I’m Ren. I’m an infectious disease epidemiologist. I am currently in my fourth year in the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program in Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. Before all this, I worked as an epidemiologist at the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. My duties there were to conduct epidemiological surveillance of influenza, Legionellosis, and other communicable diseases. I also assisted in outbreak investigations as necessary.
As I work toward the DrPH degree, I’m also working on better understanding the Zika outbreak. This blog is intended to document my work there and to keep readers informed of what we know and don’t know about Zika.
My statements, opinions, etcetera, do not necessarily represent those of the school of public health, my employers, friends, family, and others. All opinions are my own, and I welcome any and all corrections to statements of fact. After all, science works through peer review.
